BELINDA CARLISLE formó parte del grupo femenino The Go-go´s. Tuvieron mucho éxito en EEUU, pero en Europa creo que no se comieron un colín (por lo menos en España). Allí donde la véis, BELINDA era bastante viciosilla, y le daba al bebercio y a la drogaína a base de bien. Menuda golfilla...Tras la disolución del grupo ella re-apareció en solitario, y con su segundo album pegó el pelotazo, ahora sí, a nivel mundial, sobre todo gracias a "Heaven is a place on Earth". Ahora estaba muchísimo más guapa, delgada, y sana, que no era difícil. Hace unos años las Go-go´s volvieron a reunirse, grabaron nuevo material, y salieron de gira. Y ahí siguen. BELINDA CARLISLE was the lead singer of the all-girl band The Go-go´s which were very big in their homeland USA, but were less than a cult band here in Europe. It´s pretty shocking now, but back then BELINDA was quite a party animal, drinking heavily and doing drugs. After the Go-go´s called it quits she reappeared with a solo career that, mainly thanks to "Heaven is a place on Earth" made her a superstar of international fame. She looked much prettier, thinner, and healthier. Some years ago The Go-go´s reunited and recorded new material, and toured.What she does now, I don´t know, to be honest... | ||

 | Siempre me ha gustado mucho esta foto, por razones obvias, así que cuando pude conocer a BELINDA en persona, al pensar en qué foto me podría firmar, esta fue la primera que elegí. Ahora sí que ya es imposible NO fijarse en el canalillo...Por cierto, la foto tiene un buen tamaño (25 x 32 cm) y está sacada del tourbook de "Runaway horses" (Haz click en la foto para verla aumentada) I have always loved this picture, for obvious reasons, so when I had the chance to meet BELINDA this one was the first one I picked to have autographed. El 8 de Febrero de 1.999 BELINDA dio un concierto en el Jazz Cafe de Londres. Y allí me fuí (porque si tenía que esperar a verla tocar por aquí lo llevaba claro. Antes vería a un rapero con título universitario). He aquí el auténtico setlist de esa noche.  | Cuando me enteré de que (por fín) BELINDA había aceptado posar desnuda para el Playboy fue un momento mágico: Los planetas se alinearon y el tiempo se detuvo. Y lo curioso es que estuve a punto de no haberme enterado nunca. Me lo dijo un fulano al que apenas conocía. Encontrar una copia en perfecto estado no fue complicado. Lo irónico del caso es que BELINDA tardara tanto en aceptar la oferta, y es que ya no era ninguna chavala... Desgraciadamente las fotos son demasiado "artísticas" (o sea, no lo suficientemente guarras) y han sido retocadas con el Photoshop sin piedad. Aún así, un tesoro. Que yo sepa, es la única mujer de esta web que nos ha concedido el gusto de su despelote. (Haz click en la foto para verla aumentada) I recall the moment I knew that BELINDA had (finally) agreed to pose nude for Playboy as a magical one: The planets lined up, and time stopped. The funny thing is that I was about to go oblivious to this fact forever. The guy who told me the good news was almost a stranger to me! Finding a mint copy was not that hard. It´s ironic that BELINDA accepted to pose naked at this time, when she was not that young...Unfortunately the pictures turned out to be too "artistic" (dirtier stuff would not have hurt) and heavily retouched. Este cd, llamado "The greatest" sólo ha sido publicado en Japón, y tiene dos peculiaridades: El título está impreso en la caja, no en el libreto ("pos vale", dirán algunos...); Y sólo aquí se puede encontrar un tema inédito de BELINDA un tanto inesperado: Mi más ni menos que "Submission"...de los Sex Pistols!!! This cd, called "The Greatest" has been released only in Japan, and there is two aspects that make it quite special. The first is that the title is not printed on the cd booklet, but the case itself (yeah, big deal...). The second is that only on this release you can find an unexpected cover version: No other than "Submission" by...The Sex Pistols!!. | ||||

This is a Go-go´s tribute cd, called "Unsealed". What´s worth mentioning about this one is that the bands featured here are undergroung bands of punk, garage, and the like. He aquí un disco cuya rareza reside en su cutrez. No lo he vuelto a ver nunca (no me extraña). Se trata de un recopilatorio, editado sólo en EE.UU, llamado "Her greatest hits", que tiene la peculiaridad de incluir canciones del primer disco, que quedan fuera de los otros recopilatorios editados ("The best of Belinda, Vol.1", 92 y "A place on Earth. The greatest hits", 99). Y poco más, oiga... (Haz click en la foto para verla aumentada) The rarity of this cd relies on its cheap quality. I have never seen it again. No wonder. It´s called "Her greatest hits" and it´s a USA-only compilation that´s quite peculiar, since it includes tracks off her first album, which are always omitted in the other compilations ("The best of Belinda, Vol.1", 92 and "A place on Earth.  | ¿Cuánto de "primera fila" fue la primera fila en el concierto de Londres? Pues vean las fotos para comprobarlo. Doy fe de que no le cantan los pinreles, porque me hubiera llegado el olor.  | Pues siento romper el clímax, pero la verdad es que BELINDA CARLISLE no es que tenga una simpatía desbordante, que digamos. Con mucha diferencia, ella ha sido la a"gallinita" más fría y menos efusiva de todas. En la entrevista que la hicieron se mostró muy poco cordial (algo comprensible debido al poco nivel de la periodista de turno), pero es que tampoco se mostró muy amable con el enfermo que esto escribe, y eso ya es otra cosa. Un bajón...y sobre todo tras ver lo horriblemente vestida que iba ese día (ver foto arriba del todo). Ella además iba con un fulano ¡...que me registró la bolsa donde llevaba el material a firmar! (Algo que sólo me ha ocurrido en esa ocasión). Y no debe ser cosa de un día, porque en los "extras" del Dvd "The Go-go´s live in Central Park" se puede apreciar que casi ni hablaba al resto de sus compañeras. Tendrá hemorroides, qué sé yo. Además, como gran casualidad, añadir que el día que conocí a BELINDA también estuve con SHARLEEN SPITERI (Texas), que fue todo simpatía...o sea, que el mal rollo de la señora CARLISLE se noto aún más. En la foto se puede ver el momento de la despedida, cargada de una serie de regalos que le hice, incluyendo un ramo de flores. Posiblemente pensaba en ese momento: "Ya me he librao de este pesao". Sorry to admit it, but the truth is that BELINDA CARLISLE was not half as nice as expected. She is, by far, the coldest "Gallinita" on this web. During the interview she had at the radio station she was quite serious, showing no joy whatsoever. When it came to meeting fans (or "fan", since I was the only one there) things were not that different, actually. Besides, as you can see on the picture at the top of this page, she was dressed awfully that day! There was also a guy with her that CHECKED the bag where I had my soon-to-be signed stuff! (Something that has happened to me only this time). I kind of think, however, that this attitude is the norm. If you check the "extras" of the Dvd "The Go-go´s live in Central Park" you will see that BELINDA hardly speaks to her bandmates. Also, as a great coincidence, on the day I met BELINDA I spent some precious time with SHARLEEN SPITERI, lead singer of the band TEXAS, and she was all joy and care...and that made BELINDA look even worse. This picture here shows the moment of our farewell, with the presents I gave her, including some flowers. She was probably thinking "I finally get rid of this freak". | |||
