Vaya con Dios: Otro grupo que no debería gustarme...pero que me gusta. Y mucho. Y va a ser difícil explicarlo, ya que su música no tiene mucho de Rock and Roll que digamos. Su caso es (otra vez) el de un grupo que mejora disco tras disco... y de repente desaparece. DANI KLEIN estuvo años oculta, en los que viajó por el mundo, acabó viviendo en España, e incluso sacó un cd prácticamente clandestino con el grupo Purple Prose. Tras 9 años volvió al mundo real, como único miembro original del grupo Vaya con Dios, y un nuevo cd. Vaya con Dios: Another band I should not like, but that I do love. Hard to explain, since they were not very Rock and Roll. Here is another example of a band that records better and better albums to suddenly disappear, leaving no trace. DANI KLEIN was m.i.a. for years, traveling around the world, ending up living in Spain. She even formed a band and recorded an album that went by totally unnoticed. Purple Rose was their name. After 9 long years DANI came back as the only original member of the band Vaya con Dios, and recorded a new cd. | ||

Estos son los discos segundo tercero y cuarto de la discografía de Vaya Con Dios firmados por DANI KLEIN en su camerino después del concierto de Madrid del 2.007 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BibINImf_FA). ¿Què pasó con el primero? Pues que en esos momentos sólo lo tenía en cassette (original, pero cassette) y me parecía muy cutre ofrecerlo. El último cd, "The Ultimate Collection" todavía no había salido a la venta en el mercado doméstico y no disponía de ningún ejemplar, para mi desgracia. This are the second, third and fourth cd´s of the Vaya Con Dios collection, signed by DANI KLEIN in her dressing room after the 2007 show in Madrid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BibINImf_FA). So what happened with the first one? Well. at the time I only had a casstte copy of it. An original, but a cassette after all, and it looked pretty ridiculous. The latest release at the time, "The Ultimate Collection" was not even out at the time in Spain, and that´s why I didn´t have a copy either. | ||

Una vez más tengo que darle las gracias al coleguilla Carlos. En esta ocasión por regalarme esta joyita, cuando no me había enterado aun del regreso de Vaya con Dios. Se trata de la edición limitada, versión box set de "The Promise". Incluye una postal, un separador de libros, y dos cd´s: el primero contiene la música de "The promise". El segundo viene cargado con material multimedia: Una biografía del grupo, una entrevista con DANI KLEIN (con sonido), un puñado de fotos, las letras del disco, y links a la página web de Vaya con Dios. | ||||||

Once again I have to thank my mate Carlos. This time he gave me this rare piece, when I was totally oblivious to the fact that Vaya con Dios were back at all. This is the limited edition box set of "The Promise". It includes a postcard, a book mark and two cd´s. The first cd is the regular release of the album. The other one features multimedia contents: A biography of Vaya con Dios, loads of pictures, a recorded interview with DANI, the lyrics to the entire album, and Vaya con Dios web links. | ||||||

Qué bonito setlist, firmado y todo. Corresponde al concierto de Madrid del 2007, este se lleva el récord por lo extremadamente sencillo que fue conseguirlo, ya que no había ningún otro enfermo alrededor que pudiera disputármelo. Lo malo es que las canciones "Farewell song" y "Time flies" que aparecen en el setlist no cayeron al final. Y es una lástima porque son de mis favoritas absolutas. What a nice setlist, signed and all! It comes from the Madrid 2007 show and I have never had such an easy time to get it. There was no other sick fan around to fight with, so I just had to ask for it. The sad part of the story is that even though "Farewell song" and "Time flies" were on the list, they were never performed. Too bad because they are among my very favorites. | ||||

 | Hacía trece años desde la última vez que Vaya Con Dios tocaron en Madrid, y en todo este tiempo uno había acumulado una gran ansía en conocer a la diosa DANI. Curiosamente lo más difícil fue, con mucho, conseguir el día libre para poder asistir al concierto, para el que tenía la entrada comprada con semanas de antelación. El encuentro se produjo después del recital, cuando dos parejas de mediana edad (siendo educados) decidieron entrar por la puerta de atrás del teatro, a reunirse con DANI en su propio camerino. Y allí que me uní con ellos, que eran muy majetes, y parecían tener las ideas muy claras. Y aunque parezca surrealist, que lo es, así es cómo se produjo. ¿Y qué tal es DANI KLEIN en persona? Pues extremadamente educada, simpática y muy amable. Porque vamos, que no sólo no nos echara del camerino sino que encima nos recibiera tan cordialmente es digno de mención It had been 13 long years since the last time Vaya Con Dios had played in Madrid. 13 years with a growing urge to getting to know DANI KLEIN. When she returned to Spain, ironically, the hardest part was finally getting that day off duty, and even though I had gotten myself the ticket with weeks in advance, the day of the show was approaching and still I did not know whether I was going to make it or not. I finally got to meet her after the show, when I met two couples who were well in their fifties (being moderate) and, even though the were very nice and sweet, they had a firm intention of visiting DANI in her very dressing room. So they basically went though the theatre´s back door...and entered. I joined them, and yes, we found the dressing room. Yes, it sounds surreal and simple, and that´s pretty much how it happened. So how was DANI after all? Well, she was extremely polite and nice and very kind and talktative with us. I mean, she was dealing with strangers in her dressing room after all, but she seemed to enjoy our presence sincerely. | |||
