Casi 30 años llevan ANN y NANCY WILSON en esto del Rock and Roll. Con su grupo, Heart, empezaron en los `70, para encontrar su máxima popularidad con el (demasiado) limpio sonido del FM Rock de los `80. En los `90 decidieron no ser exitosas a cualquier precio y montaron el grupo The Lovemongers, mucho más underground. En el siglo XXI regresaron al Rock de sus origenes, resucitando el proyecto Heart, y volviendo por la puerta grande (más que nada porque si no NANCY no cabría por ella...). Y para los que aun crean que son un par de moñas, decirles que ellas son las dueñas del estudio donde muchos grupos grunge fueron a grabar sus discos, el "Bad Animals" de Seattle.

It´s been almost 30 years since NANCY & ANN WILSON entered the Rock and Roll business. Their band, Heart, started off in the 70´s, to achieve megastardom during the 80´s, thanks to their (much too overproduced) clean FM Rock sound. In the 90´s they decided to go underground and created a parallel project called The Lovemongers. In the 21st Century they decided to put Heart back together, returning to the raw sound of the old days. For those who take them as a joke, they must know that NANCY & ANN´s own recording studio in Seattle, "Bad Animals" is where many grunge acts recorded their albums

He aquí un recuerdo que me traje de la única ocasión en la que he visto al grupo en directo. Son dos púas, una de cada hermana. Tengo una tercera, pero la diferencia es tan pequeña que no la incluyo para no cansarles a ustedes, que estarán ocupados (o no). La de NANCY, eso sí, me la metió ella en mi puño desde el borde del escenario. O sea que algo de contacto físico sí que hubo. Supongo que lo hizo para que me callara... Here ´s a souvenir I got myself from the only time I have seen them live. It´s a couple of picks, one from each sister. I got a third one, but the difference is so small it´s not worth mentioning. NANCYgot to the edge of the stage and put her pick inside my fist. So there WAS some phisical contact between us! Maybe she just wanted me to shut up... (Click on the picture to enlarge)

Supongo que este "bootleg" es ahora imposible de encontrar. Se trata de "Throb" un disco de vinilo doble grabado en directo en Portland en 1.987 que demuestra que en directo el grupo era bastante más duro de lo que podría parecer por sus pintas. El detalle cachondo es que la discográfica es "Pharting Pharaoah", o sea, "El Faraón Pedorro". Así me gusta: piratas, pero con sentido del humor. (Haz click en la foto para verla aumentada)

I guess this double vinyl bootleg must be impossible to find nowadays. It´s called "Throb", and was recorded live in Portland in 1.987. It proves that the band was way heavier that one might think by their looks. The funny detail is that the record company (if there is actually one behind this) is called "Pharting Pharaoah". These bootleggers sure had a sense of humor. (Click on the picture to enlarge)

Este cd recopilatorio se llama "Greatest hits 85-95" y lo que están ustedes viendo es la version china del artefacto (observen los garabatos ahí abajo). Aparte de la cajita típica que incluyen casi todos los cd´s chinos, hay tres temas que hacen que este lanzamiento tenga cierto interes, a saber: Un mix diferente de "There´s the girl", una versión en estudio de "You´re the voice" y, sobre todo, el dueto inédito "Surrender to me"

This compilation cd is called "Greatest hits 85-95", and what you see here is the Chinese version of it (see the weird lettering at the bottom?). It comes with a protective box (as most of the Chinese releases) and three songs make this release quite interesting: A different mix of "There´s the girl", a studio version of "You´re the voice" and the unreleased duet "Surrender to me"
