Sólo necesité 15 segundos del tema "One of us", grabado accidentalmente en una cinta de video de Kiss, para comprarme el disco y volverme un fan. El disco en el que venía dicha canción la hizo muy famosa. Después volvió al ostracismo, donde sólo la élite sigue (seguimos) sus movimientos, que incluyen pop, rock y soul. Desafortunadamente graba sus discos de muy tarde en tarde, así que no tiene mucho material disponible. I only needed 15 seconds of the song "One of us", recorded by accident on a Kiss video tape, to buy the cd, and become a fan right away. The record that song was on made her very famous, but after that she returned to the underground status, where only the members of the elite, such as me, follow her moves. Unfortunately she takes very long periods of time in between recordings, which is why she has released such a short catalogue. | ||

 | El 12 de Noviembre de 2.002 JOAN OSBORNE dio un mini-concierto sólo para invitados en el Chesterfield Cafe de Madrid. La cosa duró una media hora nada más, aunque para compensar luego firmó y se hizo fotos a todo el que quisiera. Fans, lo que se dice fans que a día de hoy conserven el autógrafo debíamos ser dos. El resto, gorrones de los que van porque es gratis, pero que les importa todo un pedo. Bueno, casi mejor, porque así pude tener una conversación con ella, hacerle unas preguntas, y hasta conseguir el set-list del show. Set-list cutre con ganas, todo hay que decirlo. Porque el tamaño es de medio folio, no se crean... (Haz click en la foto para verla aumentada) On NOV. 12th 2.002 JOAN OSBORNE performed a short show, by invitation only, at the Chesterfield Cafe in Madrid. The gig lasted around half an hour only, but after that she signed stuff and had pictures taken with just about everyone interested. Not very many of the invited cared much to be honest, just me and another guy as far as I remember. Anyway, I had the chance to talk to her, ask her some questions and got myself the setlist sheet of the show. Yes, that´s a pretty cheap setlist, I know. (Click on the picture to enlarge) | |||

Probablemente la propia JOAN es consciente de que la portada de "Righteous love" está mucho más conseguida que la anterior. Debió ser por eso que no quiso firmar en ella, aunque sí lo hizo en el interior.  | Pues muy maja fue JOAN. Después del recital se formó una fila y ella fue tratando uno por uno con todos los miembros de la cola (valga la redundancia). Le pregunté si había algún material de ella anterior a su primer cd, "Relish". Y me contestó que sí, que había una recopilación de grabaciones antiguas en directo. Tras mucha búsqueda lo encontré. Se llama "Early recordings" y es, en mi opinión, su peor disco: Demasiado soul y poco rock. Luego me enteré de que existen más cositas sueltas por ahí, pero todo está incluido en el mencionado "Early recordings", así que para qué voy a dar rodeos. (Haz click en la foto para verla aumentada) Well, JOAN was quite cool. After the show a line was formed and she dealt with every single one in the line. I asked her if there was any material available prior to her first cd "Relish". She said there was a compilation of live recordings. After much chasing I got myself a copy of such cd, called "Early recordings", which is, in my opinion, her weakest album. Too much soul, and not so much Rock. (Click on the picture to enlarge) | |||
