KISS: "Kissing time" promo single

Puesto a la venta en Mayo de 1974, este single es el segundo promo en la carrera del grupo. Incluye "Kissin´ time" en ambas caras, pero en estéreo y mono. Como sabe cualquier fan medianamente serio y decente de KISS, en la primera edición del primer Lp esta canción no aparecía. Y también sabrá que al grupo le obligaron a cantar esta versión, de un tema que no era suyo, y que no les gustaba un pelo. No incluye portada.

Put on sale on May 1974, this is the second promo single ever in the history on the band. It includes "Kissin´ time" on both sides, but in stereo and mono. Any serious KiISS fan knows that this specific song was not included in the first edition of the first album. And that the band was forced to record this track, which was not theirs, and that they did not even like, much against their will.

TEXAS: "Tired of being alone acoustic EP". Rare limited-edition single, signed by entire band

Menos mal que en su día compré este single. No lo he vuelto a ver ni una sola vez desde entonces. Y es que me pilló de paso por Londres cuando se publicó, porque en el resto del mundo ni se olió. De este EP acústico sólo existen 5.000 copias, todas numeradas. La portada es de cartón e incluye tres postales. Está firmado por los cinco miembros en rotulador negro bien gordito.

It´s a good thing I happened to be visiting London when this one came out. I have never seen it again since. This acoustic EP is limited to only 5.000 copies, all numbered. It features three B/W postcards and the cover is made of cardboard. Signed by all five members at the time, with thick black marker..

KISS: "View-master" reels

Es muy difícil explicar a alguien que nunca haya tenido un "view-master" en sus manos lo chulo que es este juguete. Nunca llegó a venderse en España, pero mi hermano recibió uno de regalo de un tío mío. Años más tarde compré uno, para poder ver las imágenes que venían incluidas en el sobre de KISS. Un auténtico tesoro (son de 1978), que valdría mucho más si no lo hubiera abierto. Da igual, merece la pena la pérdida de valor, por poder disfrutar de estas imágenes en 3-D.

The View-master was never sold in Spain, but my brother got one from an uncle, so I always felt like I had to buy one when I had the chance. It´s a very cool toy. Besides, I needed one to see the KISS reels. A true jewel from 1978, that would be more valuable if I hadn´t opened the envelope. Whatever. Watching the 3-D images is well worth the loss of value.

KISS: Some rare singles

De mi colección de singles de KISS he elegido estos seis. Los cinco primeros son japoneses, de 1976-77. El último es el famoso single inglés en el que los ojitos y la lengua de la portada se mueven si se tira de una solapa. Pero si se tira mucho se jode, así que ya no se tira más...

Out of my KISS singles collection I picked up these six. The first five are from Japan, circa 76-77. The last one is from England, and it´s quite popular. It´s the one with the picture sleeve with the gimmick moveable eyes and tongue. It´s pretty fragile, and now it´s in a look-but-don´t touch shape.

KISS: Red wine from California, first edition

Si, vale, esto es bastante ridículo, pero mi amiga Luz me lo compró cuando lo vio en algún lugar de EEUU, así que lo incluyo aquí, como muestra de agradecimiento a sus intenciones de no alejarme de la enfermedad.

Yes, this is quite ridiculous. My friend Luz saw it somewhere in the US and bought it for me, so I´m including it as a proof of how much I appreciate her present, and the fact that she acccept (and supports) my sickness.

VAN HALEN: Assorted Japanese items

En algún parte de esta web está escrito que mi viaje de Luna de Miel fue a Japón, lugar muy recomendable, principalmente por los discos. Este es el material que conseguí de Van Halen. El "Balance", cuya portada está censurada allí. Al lado se puede ver la edición normal, firmada por MIchael Anthony (Van Halen) y Little Steven (The E-Street band), a los que conocí en Barcelona en 1.995. Es una historia muy larga, pero se puede ver una foto en la sección "The photos". Luego tenemos el cd "Mini-best", muy raro. Tanto "Balance" como "Mini-best" venían con pegatinas de regalo. Ahí también está el mini-cd de 3 pulgadas de "fire in the hole" de cuando Van Halen la cagó pero bien cagada. Y para terminar, un poster anunciando un concierto en tierras niponas.

It´s written somewhere on this webpage that I traveled to Japan for my Honeymoon ...mainly for the cd´s. This is the Van Halen stuff I got me there. First of all, "Balance" with the exclusive censored cover. You can see also the ordinary cover, signed by Michael Anthony (Van Halen) and Little Steven (The E-Street band), whom I met in Barcelona, in 1.995. It´s a long story, but you can see a picture here. Then you can see the rare "Mini best" cd. Both "Mini best" and "Balance" included stickers, that you can also see here. I also bought the 3´cd-single for "fire in the hole" off the album Van Halen recorded when they totally lost it. Finally a poster for a gig in Japan.

PARADISE LOST: Cd´s signed by entire band

No está toda la colección, pero sí los más interesantes (De hecho los primeros discos de Paradise Lost me parecen simplemente insoportables): "DRACONIAN TIMES" (Edición especial en caja), "ONE SECOND", "HOST", "BELIEVE IN NOTHING", "SYMBOL OF LIFE" y "SYMBOL OF LIFE" en edición especial . Y todos firmados por los cinco. ¿Quiere verme en una foto con Greg Mackintosh?, pues no se prive, y haga click aquí, no se corte...

This is not the entire collection, but the most interesting ones (in fact, I think the first stuff they recorded is just awful). "DRACONIAN TIMES" (Limited edition in box), "ONE SECOND", "HOST", "BELIEVE IN NOTHING", "SYMBOL OF LIFE" and "SYMBOL OF LIFE" (Special edition). All of them signed by all five members. KISS: Rare Cd´s from Russia and Japan

Primero tenemos tres cd´s rusos bastante peculiares: El primero es un recopilatorio de nombre irreproducible, aunque me han soplado que significa "Leyendas del Rock extranjero". El segundo es otro recopilatorio llamado "ROCK COLLECTION". Para añadir rareza a lo ya raro, en estos cd´s se incluyen temas tan oscuros como "Baby driver", "2.000 man", "Charisma" (estas tres me encantan), "Got love for sale", "Ain´t quite right" o "I pledge allegiance...". Los trajo mi vecino, que se acordó de mi enfermedad durante sus vacaciones. El tercer cd no es tan raro. Incluye dos lanzamientos en un solo disco. Supongo que están emparejados por compartir productor. Por último, la versión chulísima que del "PSYCHO-CIRCUS" salió en Japón.

Well, first of all, you can see three peculiar cd´s from Russia. The first one has a quite strange name, and it´s a compilation album. I have been told that the title means "International Rock legends". The second one, called "ROCK COLLECTION" is another compilation. To add rareness to what is already rare, check out some of the song included: "Baby driver", "2.000 man", "Charisma"(I love these three songs), "Got love for sale", "Ain´t quite right" or "I pledge allegiance...". My neighbor bought them for me while on vacation. The third one is not so rare. It´s two albums on the same cd. I guess they´re together because they share producer. The last one is the cool "PSYCHO-CIRCUS" version that was released in Japan.
