			Nos encontramos, ni más ni menos, que ante el disco "secreto" de PAT BENATAR. El Santo Grial. Incluso muchos fans desconocen la existencia de esta joya. Resulta que PAT grabó un Lp antes de comenzar su exitosa carrera en solitario, parece ser que en 1.975. El artefacto, llamado "COXON ´S ARMY" por el lider del grupo, Phil Coxon, está rodeado de misterio, lo que le hace aún más irresistible. He podido recopilar algunos datos, sobre todo a través de las raras ocasiones en las que sale a subasta por Internet. Parece un dato cierto que no debe haber más de 500 copias en todo el mundo. Parece ser que PAT compró los derechos cuando firmó el primer contrato con Chrysalis, y que no tiene ninguna intención de que se re-edite. También he leído que PAT compró todas las copias que pudo para que no cayeran en las manos del público (y es que este Lp sólo se vendía en el area de Richmond, Virginia o en sus actuaciones). Esto es cierto porque PAT en persona me confesó que guardaba varias copias en casa. Yo me hice una copia personal en cd, que es lo que pongo cuando quiero escuchar este disco (ver foto), porque esta maravilla se mira pero no se toca . Por cierto, a día de hoy el valor del disco no baja de $500, tirando por lo bajo. Y ESTE ESTÁ FIRMADO POR PAT!! Cuando había perdido la esperanza, encontré una copia disponible en una tienda del Greewich Village de Nueva York llamada "Strider records". Me puse tan contento que me hice una foto con el vendedor. Y cuando llegué a casa y lo escuché por primera vez sentí unas alucionaciones que ríanse ustedes de Santa Teresa... ¡Tres veces tuve que viajar a Estados Unidos hasta conseguir que me lo firmara! Cuando lo conseguí hacía pompitas con el culo (yo, no ella). Ahora bien, existe un artículo AUN MÁS RARO y más imposible de encontrar que este vinilo. Sigan leyendo, sigan... Más información en EL MUSEO This is no other than PAT BENATAR ´s "secret" album. The Holy Grail. Even many fans ignore the existence of this jewel. PAT happened to record an album before she signed as a successful solo artist (1.975 seems to be the year). The release is called "COXON ´S ARMY", after the leader of the band, a guy called Phil Coxon, and it´s surrounded by mystery, which makes it even more special. I ´ve gathered some information from the rare times this baby comes out for auction at Ebay. It does seem to be a fact that the total number of copies must be around 500 worldwide. It seems that PAT bought all the rights when she got the money from her Chrysalis contract...with the intention of never having it re-released (the album was only sold at the Coxon ´s Army shows, and local stores around the Richmond, Virginia area, so it was not that hard to keep track of them). PAT herself confessed to me that she had several copies at home. I did myself a cd copy, which is what a play when I want to listen to this album, too valuable to fool around with. (see photo) In case you want to know how rare the record actually is, I will tell you: $ 500 a piece MINIMUM, that is how rare it is...And it reaches higher prices when is put on Ebay (price as of 2004. It´ll keep raising). THIS ONE IS ALSO SIGNED BY PAT!! I had lost all hope of getting a copy myself when I found one in a Greenwich Village store in New York. The store is called "Strider Records" and I got so happy that I had a picture taken with the seller. And then, when I got home back in Europe and put the needle on it, it was like reaching another level of consciousness, so to speak. Three times I had to fly to the US until I finally got it signed. 	Este es incluso más difícil de conseguir que el "Coxon´s Army". Se trata del single "Last Saturday / Day gig" que grabó por un poco más tarde. En cualquier caso las dos canciones de este single no aparecen en dicho Lp. En cinco años he visto 3 "Coxon´s Army" salir a subasta en Ebay (más el que yo compré en una tienda), pero sólo UNO de estos singles (que fue el día que lo gané). Yo no sería digno de llamarme "enfermo" si se me hubiera escapado. Más información en EL MUSEO This one is even rarer and harder to get than the "Coxon´s Army" album. In five years I´ve seen 3 "Coxon´s Army" copies go for action in Ebay, plus the one I bought at a store. I have only seen ONE of these singles (that´s when I won it). It´s the "Last Saturday /day gig" single, recorded soon after the "Coxon´s Army" album. Anyway, it features two songs that are not included on that Lp. 			Este también es bastante raro, aunque a otro nivel inferior. Se trata de un recopilatorio promocional llamado "From `79 to `93", y lo curioso es que es europeo, concretamente de Francia. Incluye 12 canciones, desde el cd "In the heat of the night" hasta "Gravity ´s rainbow". This one is quite rare. It´s a promo compilation cd, called "From `79 to `93", and the strange thing about it is that it was released in Europe, France to be precise. It includes 12 songs off all her albums at the time, from "In the heat of the night" to "Gravity ´s rainbow".

Este lanzamiento es un poco cutre. Bueno, MUY cutre. Se trata de un cd de Karaoke, con las canciones de PAT, pero sin su voz (obvio), e interpretadas por otros músicos, o sea que suena ligeramente diferente. Incluye 18 temas y está indicado especialmente para berrear en la soledad del automóvil. Relaja mucho, se lo digo yo. Ojo al detalle chapuza. El propio nombre de BENATAR está mal escrito... ¡en la portada! (Haz click en la foto para verla aumentada)

This is quite tasteless, to be honest. It is a Karaoke cd featuring 18 PAT BENATAR songs, but without her voice and played by different musicians (sounding somehow pretty awkward). Anyway, it´s a good fun to scream along in the loneliness of a car ride. Very relaxing. Now, watch out for a well done job. Whoever recorded this, misspelled BENATAR´ ´s name on the very cover of the cd! (Click on the photo to enlarge)

El single que lo empezó todo. Este es el primer artículo de PAT BENATAR que compré en mi vida. Cuando conocí a PAT me lo firmó, y así pudo ver que era un enfermo con solera y pedigrí. Una pena que el rotulador negro no resalte mucho sobre el fondo oscuro.

This is the 45 that started it all. The first PAT BENATAR item I ever bought, years and years ago. When I finally met PAT she signed it, so she was able to see I´ve been a sick man for a long time. Too bad you can´t see the autograph that well due to the dark background.

De los recopilatorios de PAT BENATAR, que tiene para aburrir, éste, llamado "Best shots", es de los que interesan. Principalmente por un medley en directo bastante curioso; Pero sobre todo por una versión de "The outlaw blues" que sólo se encuentra aquí, y que iguala, si no supera, a la original. Este cd no salió a la venta en Europa. Pues bien, esta es la versión japonesa, que es lo mismo, pero con el "obi" (esa tira vertical) y un libreto con las letras. La diferencia no es mucha, pero me lo trajo una amiga de Tokio, así es que no le pondré pegas.

Out of the waaay too many compilation albums PAT BENATAR has put out (or her company), this one, called "Best shots" is among the interesting ones. Mainly for a live medley, and a different version of "The outlaw blues" that is probably better that the original, and that can be found nowhere else but here. This cd was not sold in Europe. This is the Japanese version, which is the same, but contains the "obi" strip and the lyrics to the songs. Not much, but it´s a souvenir a friend of mine bought for me while in Tokyo.

Recientemente encontré este chicle de fresa, (junto a otro del "Autoamerican" de Blondie). El chicle en sí, duro como una pieda tras 20 años tiene forma de disco, con sus surcos y todo.También incluye las letras de "Hit me with your best shot" Desde hace décadas tengo otros de los Rolling Stones (En EL MUSEO)

I recently got myself this strawberry chewing gum (with another other featuring Blondie´s "Autoamerican"). The gum is hard as a rock after 20 years without a loving owner, and is shaped after an album, with the grooves and all. It also includes the lyrics to "Hit me with your best shot". Years ago I got some from The Rolling Stones (you can see them in THE MUSEUM)

Extraño cd este. Se llama "The remix collection" y aunque es de origen brasileño, lo compré por correo a un argentino. Y lo curioso es que parece oficial, aunque vaya usted a saber... Contiene, como su nombre indica, remezclas de temas en clave de chunda chunda, algunos menos irritantes que otros. Lo más destacable, sin duda, es un remix extendido del tema inédito "Here´s my heart"

What an strange cd this is. It´s called "The remix collection" and it comes from Brazil, even though I got it by mail from an Argentinian guy. This one does not seem be a bootleg, but go figure... It contains a collection of remixes, some less irritating that others, with that disgusting tecno beat all over the place. The most relevant track is, no doubt, an extended mix of the unreleased track "Here´s my heart"

			Esto es una rara caja que incluye 3 lp´s que sólo se public´ó para uso interno de las emisoras de radio americanas, y todavía incluye las hojas con información de los anuncios que sonaban entre algunos de los temas. La lista de canciones de esta actuación es rarísima, incluyendo temas tan inusuales como "Ooh ooh song", "Sex as a weapon", "Le bel age", "Big life", "Diamond field" o "Rred vision"!! Por cierto, es el misco show que aparece en el bootleg "Seven the hard way 1984 tour" !! This is a rare "Superstar Concert Series" radio show from the 80's. It is a 3 lp set, a radio-only recording, still in the original box. It has the original sheet with timing and info on the commercials that appear in between the songs. The setlist of this show, from the "Seven the hard way" tour is quite bizarre, including, "Ooh ooh song", "Sex as a weapon", "Le bel age", "Big life", "Diamond field" or "Rred vision"!! It´s the same show featured on the bootleg "Seven the hard way 1984 tour".
